TWEYAMBE EMERGENCY SERVICES (TES) is a registered non-profit making organization that seeks to contribute towards public health by operating emergency response, patient transport and public health education in Kampala.

TES has been established with the aim of providing free ambulance services to the people and to run activities in order to develop capacity and build systems that will be a foundation of establishing a working model of an emergency response system initially starting in Kawempe division.

Recognizing the increasing need for urgent access to medical services and more so the increasing number of death caused by lack of prompt pre-hospital care and medical attention, Tweyambe Emergency Services Ltd hopes to bring medical services closer to the people most especially those in need through free ambulance services to the people of Kawempe division.

Over the past 3years, the staff has undergone training and has certificates in ambulance operations and first-aid from qualified experts and partners from Canada.

TES is solely sponsored by Canada Uganda EMS Society (CUES).

OBJECTIVES

To serve the people of Kawempe Division by providing ambulance services and pre- hospital care for free to the sick, and medically disadvantaged and those in particular need.

To provide initial first-aid services to the sick and those in need of medical support and carry out medical trainings, counseling and medical outreach programs to areas where medical attention is scarce or non-existent.

To liaise with hospitals and clinics in bringing medical services closer to the people and indulge into counseling, education , health, rehabilitation and related welfare medical support for families, women, children and the elderly, and to contribute to any other positive welfare and development initiatives in Kawempe Division.

To collect, purchase, store, transport, deliver, distribute and donate all kinds of items, equipment, materials and goods of all kinds for the use in relief rehabilitation, reconstruction and development or the use in ancillary activities which may in the organization’s opinion be conveniently carried on in conjunction with the aforementioned activities.

To initiate, foster and facilitate and/or advocate for programs, activities, projects and a legal framework that would promote community economic and skills/talent development with the view of promoting self-sufficiency.

To initiate, co-ordinate, manage, operate and encourage activities, projects, programs or other investments with a view of promoting, fostering and I calculating a spirit of togetherness, solidarity, love and respect for humanity regardless of ones creed, colour, religion, tribe etc.

To enhance community development, deal in community based development programmes and offer consultation services in counseling, and such other related services.

To promote and encourage the distribution, donation and granting of medical drugs and such equipment as shall be needed in the community by the organization and its members in conjunction with the organization.

SERVICES OFFERED;

  1. Provide on scene first aid and en-route care to sick or injured people.
  2. Providing and connecting patients to primary care services and completing post hospital follow up care.
  3. Assess a patient’s condition and determining the best course of action to follow.
  4. First aid training and health outreach camps.

TES hopes to enter into any contract, agreement, or arrangement with any government or authorities, supreme, municipals, local or otherwise that may seem conducive to the organization’s objects or any of them, and to obtain from any such government or authority any right, privileges and concessions which the organization may think fit, desirable to obtain and to carry out, exercise and comply with any such contracts, agreements, rights, privileges and concessions.
